NCBA Press Conference
The NCBA held a press conference this week to announce the release of a new study produced by UNC’s Kenan Flagler Business School entitled “Demographic and Economic Impacts of International Migration to North Carolina.” The nonpartisan study was commissioned by the NCBA on behalf of all the banks across the State of North Carolina, with special thanks to BB&T, First Citizens Bank, TD Bank, Banco de la Gente (a branch of Peoples Bank), and Southern Bank for providing major support. Among the study’s findings, $8 in revenue is generated for every $1 the state invests in essential services for immigrants, and $5 for every $1 invested in essential services for Hispanics. The study sought to take a balanced approach by presenting both positive and negative economic data on this issue. We encourage you to share the study with your marketing directors and other bank strategists.
